Selenium

Selenium is an element with a poetic name but is necessary for many biochemical processes in the human body. It is part of many enzymes with antioxidant properties. Selenium also helps the body defend itself against oxidative stress, allows the regulation of thyroid hormones and maintains the body’s defenses. Animal tissue contains small amounts of amino acids in which selenium is contained (selenomethionine and selenocysteine). The main sources of selenium are various types of nuts (especially Brazil nuts), whole grains, dairy products and brown rice.

There is evidence that selenium contributes to normal spermatogenesis, the maintenance of normal hair and nails. Furthermore, it contributes to the normal function of the immune system, normal thyroid function and the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

The intake of selenium through the daily consumption of 5 servings Mana Powder or Mana Drink is 55 µg.

Enjoy Mana as part of your varied and balanced diet and healthy lifestyle. Mana is suitable for all healthy adults.
